“Shine” was written in 1910.
Don wrote to me:
“I was just watching a Netflix documentary on Frank Sinatra and saw a clip with original sound. There was a radio talent show, Major Bowes Amateur Hour (forerunner of Ted Mack of our generation.) Sinatra auditioned as a solo but at show time was merged with “the Three Aces” a trio also from Hoboken. They went on as the Hoboken Four and won. That led to a national “tour” and the rest is history (sort of).”
