The Magnificent Ambersons (1942) was Orson Welles’s second film following his great Citizen Kane (1941). RKO cut it and tacked on a happy ending while Welles was out of the country. There have always been rumors of a full print but it has never been found. It would be great if this effort locates it. The film in its current form is still outstanding and would make my top ten list for American films. Criterion released it on Blu-ray and DVD. TCM also shows it occasionally.
