“(There’s) Always Something There to Remind Me” was written by Bacharach and David. Dionne Warwick recorded a demo in 1963. There have been multiple versions but the first time it reached the top 20 was in 1983 when it was released by Naked Eyes in a synthpop style very different from earlier versions.

Covers: The Man Who Broke the Bank at Monte Carlo
“The Man Who Broke the Bank at Monte Carlo” is a British music song that was made popular by Charles Coburn. I know it’s in at least two films: Lawrence of Arabia (which I was watching on TV today) and The Magnificent Ambersons.
I have attached clips from both. In the Amberson clip, it is sung near the end. It is also at the end of the much briefer Lawrence clip.
Covers: She’s About a Mover
“She’s About a Mover” was a Tex-Mex style hit from the Sir Douglas Quintet in 1965.
Covers: Long Black Veil
I was reminded of this song by this Twitter post. “Long Black Veil” was recorded in 1959 by Lefty Frizzell. The version i know best is the 1968 recording by the Band on Music from Big Pink. I saw them perform it live in 1974. They also performed it at Woodstock.
Covers: Tomorrow Never Knows
“Tomorrow Never Knows” by the Beatles was the last song on Revolver (1966). Los Lobos and others have covered it.
Covers: Hernando’s Hideaway
“Hernando’s Hideaway” was originally in the 1954 musical The Pajama Game. Try the Brave Combo cover.
Covers: Shiny Happy People
R.E.M.’s “Shiny Happy People” was on their album Out of Time which was released 30 years ago yesterday on March 12, 1991. It was also issued as a single. Sesame Street made a version called “Happy Furry Monsters” with the band’s participation.
Covers: The World Is Going Wrong
“World Gone Wrong” was originally written and recorded by the Mississippi Sheiks. Bob Dylan used it as the title song for his 1993 album (as World Gone Wrong) but there’s no YouTube video for it. B.B. King, who was from Mississippi did an electric blues cover in 2008 which is very different from the original version.
Covers: I’ve Got Blood In My Eyes For You
The Mississippi Sheiks released “I’ve Got Blood In My Eyes For You” in 1931. Bob Dylan covered it in 1993 on World Gone Wrong. The title song is also a Mississippi Sheiks cover.
