Trump has created an atmosphere where the bombs were not surprising.
Let’s see if he calls it terrorism. I doubt it.
Think about how our modern Presidents would have handled this moment — Reagan, Bush 41, Clinton, Bush 43, Obama. Trump was bare bones basic with zero understanding of role he's played in fostering the bitterness and crudity of our national discourse and attacks on the media.

BREAKING: Trump on bomb scares: "Political violence" has no place in U.S. https://t.co/xL6Y93MXii
— The Daily Beast (@thedailybeast) October 24, 2018
Trump: "This egregious conduct is abhorrent" to everything "we hold dear." He promises more updates. He ad-libs, "We're extremely angry, upset, unhappy about what we witnessed this morning, and we will get to the bottom of it." Then on to previously scheduled opioid remarks.

Important to note that the President did not address the fact that one of these devices was sent to a news organization, CNN. He only talked about packages mailed "to current and former high ranking government officials." Brennan-addressed package was sent to CNN bureau https://t.co/SPwlHXRkWd

I have to agree here with @SteveSchmidtSES:Trump is the ultimate cause of this spate of hateful violence — even if he purports to condemn it and declares himself blameless. https://t.co/mvAXJjqXLx
— Laurence Tribe (@tribelaw) October 24, 2018
Every single recipient of the bomb packages — Soros, Obama, Clinton, Wasserman-Schultz, Holder, CNN — has been a target of Trump’s vicious comments at his raucous rallies. He didn’t light the fire, of course, and he’s condemning it, but he brought the kindling and the matches.

Last night he told a crowd that Beto O’Rourke and Hillary Clinton should share a jail cell. https://t.co/Y3RxwI4tzo

We are not saying Trump causes bomb threats; we are saying his rhetoric is unlike any of his predecessors, does damage to our democracy and can motivate fringe characters to behave violently. He systematically destroys comity, decency and rationalityhttps://t.co/padgHuOWcb

WATCH: "All of these packages contained something similar to this, a pipe bomb-type device… the device itself did contain explosive powder, but whether it would work, how it was designed to work… that is all to be determined." – @PeteWilliamsNBC pic.twitter.com/hNxpKulKPU

What tone will @realDonaldTrump take tonight at his rally in Wisconsin, given the serial bombs that were delivered to several of his favorite verbal targets?
— David Axelrod (@davidaxelrod) October 24, 2018
Everyone who has received a bomb – Soros, the Clintons, Obama, Brennan delivered to CNN – are all people who have been the targets of right wing conspiracy theories pushed by Trump and @FoxNews. THIS is why these crazy stories are so dangerous. STOP before someone gets killed!
— Kurt Eichenwald (@kurteichenwald) October 24, 2018
Trump isn't the only person to blame for these bombs. Fox News made the Clintons, the Obamas, Soros, and Debbie Wasserman Schultz into villains. Trump wakes up every morning and repeats what they tell him.
Propaganda is dangerous. Propaganda backed by the government is worse.

I am truly grateful for the support of all who have reached out to inquire about the safety of my family after the attempted bomb attack. Here’s my op-ed in the @NYtimes about the incident and what is happening to politics in America today. https://t.co/9VALGi85yS

Americans must never & I believe will never accept terrorism against any of us. If the terrorist(s) doing this believed otherwise they are very mistaken. Because we are free,we openly & passionately argue over our political differences. But we settle them with ballots, not bombs. https://t.co/4SI2mWPyYw

Packages to Soros, Obamas, Clintons, Brennan c/o CNN, Holder — these devices, per law enforcement sources, were rudimentary but functional.
Meaning the intent here was mass murder.
