Don Everly

Don Everly, the older of the Everly Brothers duo, died on August 21, 2021. The Everly Brothers had hits from the late 1950s into the 1960s and were very influential. Their harmonies are as good as they get.

I am going to post one of their later songs “Gone, Gone, Gone” from 1964 which was covered by Robert Plant and Alison Krauss in 2007. It was the first song on the CD of the Everly Brothers 1983 Reunion concert.

Don Everly was among my favorite singers; there was a trace of melancholy in his voice. Although Don’s time spent as a teenage star left him guarded, the time I was lucky enough to spend with him changed my life forever.
