Carl Mays threw the pitch that killed Ray Chapman who died the next day.
Carl Mays is an interesting Hall of Fame case. His similarity score peers are HoFers and borderline cases. However, he was a malcontent on Boston, then he threw the pitch that killed Ray Chapman. I wonder if these moments in his career made him unenshrineable.
