If tariffs increase the price of an item, the seller will just increase the price for the consumer. The company is not going to absorb the tariff. Trump lied about this in the debate and many times before.

US businesses and consumers paid Trump's tariffs on China.

US importers make the literal tariff payments, and study after study has found that American consumers bore the costs.
