The White House says that it was unlikely the federal jobs report or the Consumer Price Index reports that were due to be released in October would be published after the government shutdown ends.

One reason Democrats caved

I think this is a big part of it. Rich people were not affected by SNAP cuts or ACA subsidies but they were inconvenienced by flight delays.

My low key conspiracy is that every billionaire democratic donor who saw a flight or a friend's flight out of Tetoboro cancelled on Friday forced this result on Schumer. This was not about helping people it was about helping the donor class not have any minor disruption of their life.
