Trump betrays coal miners

With a current value of $0.001 per ton, it does not look like coal will be making a comeback in the United States. That's the outcome from a recent coal lease bid for *subsidized* coal. They lowered the royalty rate (& cut environmental regulations) to encourage the sale. 🧪🔌💡☀️💨💧🔋 A short 🧵

The New York Times doesn’t give prime coverage to No Kings

This is disgraceful – it should be the top story,

Those with sharp eyes might detect a subtle difference in NYT play last month of an event in one city, w 100,000+ attendees, versus play this morning of some 2500+ events w many millions of attendees, in all 50 states.See if you can spot it! /sThen you can find today's story on p A23

Don’t take Republicans’ word on calling a vote

Republicans won’t keep deals. Remember this? (I didn’t.) Then there are tne rescissions that undo budget deals already made.

In the last government funding deal, Schumer got a handshake promise from Republicans to hold a House vote to undo a block on D.C. spending $1B of its own revenue. Then House Republicans simply never called the vote.Guarantee, schmarantee.
