I guess you had to be there. Mrs. Miller recorded horrendous covers in the 1960s. She was like an earlier William Hung. Here are a few with the originals she covered.

“Hallelujah I Love Her So” was a 1956 single by Ray Charles. The cover I remember best is the Humble Pie version.
“Rivers of Babylon” is a 1970 reggae song by the Melodians that is on the soundtrack of The Harder They Come. Covers include versions by Linda Ronstadt and Steve Earle.
“Jolene” is a 1973 Dolly Parton song. Covers range from Miley Cyrus to the White Stripes. Parton revised it when she got the vaccine recently.
“Lo Sienta Mi Vida” is in Spanish and was on Linda Ronstadt’s 1976 album Hasten Down the Wind. David Hidalgo from Los Lobos participated in a new cover version.
“I Got a Woman” is a Ray Charles record from 1954. It is partially based on “It Must Be Jesus” by the Southern Tones” and Big Bill Broonzy’s “Living on Easy Street”.
Elvis Presley covered it and the Beatles played it on the BBC. There’s even a version by Johnny Cash and June Carter.
” If You Want Me to Stay” is a 1973 Sly and the Family Stone song that has been covered in a current Crown Royal commercial. It’s not one of my favorite Sly songs but anything that brings attention back to them is great. They are one of the best bands ever. They managed to fuse R&B and rock in a way that was universal. I saw them twice and they were even better than their records.
My third post today of Kinks covers. “This Is Where I Belong” was a single B-side in 1967.
“I’m Not Like Everybody Else” (1966) by the Kinks was the B side of “Sunny Afternoon”. There are numerous covers. As I recall, they performed it when I saw them in 1993.
“Waterloo Sunset” (1967) is one of the Kinks’ finest songs. It reached #2 in England but didn’t succeed in the US. It sure doesn’t sound like the music that was popular here then but it’s a great record. Colin Hay just covered it.
