There was a several-year period when the Orioles farm system was ranked #1. Then they brought the top prospects up to the majors and got later first-round picks. The farm system rnak declined.

This year, between 21 draftees signed and 16 players acquired in deadline trades, the system rebounded to #11. The Orioles just brought two of their top prospects up to the majors – Samuel Basallo and Dylan Beavers.

The Orioles beat the worst team in baseball 18-0 on Saturday.

They had 18 hits (and only batted in 8 innings)

They had 26 baserunners including walks, hit by pitch and errors

They had 11 hits with runners in scoring position.

This list was made after the 2025 draft. The Orioles had seven early picks and a record money allotment and got good reviews for their selections.

I think Basallo will join the major league roster in August or September. I think Beavers will get a promotion too, maybe sooner depending on who the Orioles trade.

The Orioles have four early picks – 19, 30, 31 and 37. I hope they draft some college pitchers instead of the usual position players.

The Orioles won 22-8 last night. It reminded me of this 1999 game vs. the Braves that the Orioles won 22-1. Like last night, the Orioles beat a better team. The 1999 Orioles only won 78 games while the Braves won 103.
