I donated to Democracy Forward because they are suing Trump
I think the Democratic Party isn’t worth donating to until they remove Schumer as minority leader.
I donated to Democracy Forward which has sued Trump. That’s what needs to be done and should be supported.

Trump has gutted the CDC, FDA and other health agencies
I don’t know how you can ever rebuild them. I assume Trump will be sued but the damage has been done.

The photo below is of the Bo Brooks location on Belair Road which is where it was in the 1970s when I moved here. It was a great place to get crabs.
In the 1990s, it moved to a much more upscale location in Canton. Somehow the old place seemed more authentic. Don’t get me wrong – I would have done what they did and make the new place more upscale. It reminded me of the difference between old Memorial Stadium and Camden Yards,

Trump’s hostility to foreigners, universities and science will cause a brain drain
Once people have left or don’t come here at all, we’ve lost them. The whole country will suffer for decades because of Trump. Other countries will be glad to have these people and will benefit from them.
Reducing services is not saving money
You pay out less in salaries but the smaller staff does less. I don’t call this saving money.
The scariest article on the Social Security Administration (SSA)
I worked for SSA for almost 38 years and retired in 2014-. I am alarmed and disgusted by what Trump is doing to SSA. I think the goal is to wreck it and privatize it,
A few notes on the article:
- They are right to want to clean up the records of people who are certainly dead but not shown as deceased. It’s just not a high priority since there isn’t significant fraud. I would have spent the money on customer service in the field offices or on the phone.
- The fast pace of their programming is just looking for trouble. As noted in the article, major changes usually take much longer. I suspect they are going to scrimp on writing specifications for the programmers and validating the finished product.
- They are right to want to convert the software to a more modern language but I suspect their reason is to make it easier to privatize SSA.
