Trump is using the horrible treatment of children as a political tool. There’s no limit to how low he will go. Of course, he keeps lying about his policy and blaming it on Democrats.
Using innocent kids as leverage to force funding of a border wall and cuts in LEGAL immigration—or for ANY purpose, for that matter— is fundamentally immoral.

Another low. Trump specifically acknowledges he is willing to continue to brutalize and traumatize small children – to essentially hold them hostage – as legislative negotiating tactic. No tweets saying I am being acerbic. These are his words. https://t.co/QChAWoGck0

No matter what @realDonaldTrump says, his administration has made a choice to separate children at the border. For Bush & Obama, the idea of crying children torn from their parents’ arms was too inhumane and politically perilous to embrace. w/@juliehdavis https://t.co/cVD7JBaKsG

I've been thinking of a way to describe how Pres.Trump seeks to "leverage" his anti-immigration campaign by instituting a horrific policy of ripping children from the arms of their parents. The more I thought of it, the more the phrase "human shields" echoed in my conscience.

John Bussey on immigration: "I don't think that [@POTUS'] argument that this is the Democrats doing this is accurate. It's a zero tolerance policy initiated by the president. This wasn't happening before, it's happening now. This is happening under President Trump's watch." pic.twitter.com/2xlzl4Wu3b

"I have no information about your child." Can you imagine hearing those words from a judge? https://t.co/jYecKXJvWP

This article does the best job I’ve read of explaining what exactly happens when the immigrant children are taken away from their kids. It’s horrifying. Read the whole thing. Parents are told their kids are going to get a bath — and then they never return. https://t.co/ivJkhApnow pic.twitter.com/xsE6qJAHY1
