Media outlets give excessive coverage to Trump to try to get the ratings they had when he was president. They cover Trump cult members but I never see interviews with Biden supporters. They help him evade his Twitter ban by posting his rants.
New with @nrothschild3: News engagement fell off a cliff in 2021, and given the ongoing decline in interest in news about COVID-19 and in politics absent Trump, it doesn't look like 2022 will be much better. https://t.co/lo07BG7aIk pic.twitter.com/urJmoTt3K8

As Trump and right-wing media point out that CNN & MSNBC’s ratings have come down from the highs of a pandemic, election, and insurrection, it is worth pointing out the same is true for Fox. For instance, in Q2 of 2020, Tucker Carlson averaged 4.3M viewers. In 2021, 2.9M viewers.

Kind of amazing how many people who should know better need to hear this, but comparing cable news ratings now to right after the insurrection in January is nonsensical. It's like saying CBS' ratings plummeted the week after the Super Bowl. Well, yeah….

EXCLUSIVE from me: THE ATLANTIC, which surged in 2020 amid Trump & Covid, faces hard path ahead. Subscribers have plateaued & started to decline. It lost $20m+ last year, will lose $10m+ this year and there are doubts about ever reaching profitability. https://t.co/UwjwABu8mH
