Democrats may gerrymander Maryland so that all eight congressional districts are blue. Not too long ago, there were two red ones and there is one now.
I live in Maryland and oppose gerrymandering. However, I don’t think Democrats have a choice as long as Republicans are gerrymandering and control many more states than Democrats.
Suspect this won't be the last primary delayed due to redistricting lawsuits. https://t.co/mkzvff43ki

Let’s be honest about it: Democrats did this in Maryland, Illinois, they will in New York as well. And Republicans did it in Texas, North Carolina, Ohio, Florida, Alabama, Oklahoma, Utah, etc. The solution is a national law banning the practice. https://t.co/B0tmjoSKOe

How wildly can gerrymandering swing elections? In Maryland, it's possible to draw a map where 4/8 districts voted for Trump in 2020 (left).

It's also possible to draw a map where 8/8 districts voted for Biden by 20+ (right).
The only difference? A few lines. pic.twitter.com/FGm8SYUdY7
Big question in Maryland: will Dems finally go for the jugular and draw an 8D-0R map? The gerrymander below would axe MD's last Republican, #MD01 Rep. Andy Harris: all eight districts would have voted for Clinton/Biden by 15+ points. pic.twitter.com/WPHZJio5Dh

A key to Dems' bid to save their razor-thin House majority: gerrymander their way to an 8-0 shutout in Maryland. by @Meagan_Flynn https://t.co/pDdbKl3vx0

Democrats: HR1 in the streets, Maryland gerrymander in the sheets. https://t.co/qeTq8yJGQZ

So far, to Republicans' relief, the gerrymander Maryland Dems advanced out of committee (below) isn't maximally aggressive. It would make #MD01 more competitive but would still likely leave Rep. Andy Harris (R) the favorite for reelection, at least in 2022. pic.twitter.com/rWyDgbiDiE

"According to the Princeton Gerrymandering Project, which gave the map an 'F' grade, the proposed 1st District favors Democrats by a thin margin, roughly 51% to 49%." https://t.co/XuhPOd4zgf

"The proposed map gets an F from the Princeton Gerrymandering Project, which grades congressional maps on partisan fairness, geographical compactness, and other factors." https://t.co/S6xwSFLuYi

The House-passed MD map is slightly different than the one proposed earlier. No major changes to MD-01 but other seats got shored up a bit.

MD-06 goes from Biden +21.5% to Biden +22.5%
