Another example of Trump defying a court order

Who will enforce the order?

Who will stop Trump? He will continue to defy court orders if he gets away with it.

Update – the judge is now letting them detain him on a new charge. He should have been released earlier.

A Trump administration official has told lawyers for Mahmoud Khalil that the government has no immediate plans to release him, in spite of a judge’s order barring his detention on the grounds for which he was originally arrested. nyti.ms/4465JKP

Crucial new analysis from @budgetlab.bsky.social taking CBO’s distributional analysis and including the impact of tariffs. The combined effect of the “big beautiful bill” and Trump’s tariffs has the bottom 80% losing on average, the 9th decile flat, and only the top 10% better off.

NEW FROM CBO: brutal distributional analysis of House GOP "Big Beautiful Bill"On avg the bottom 30% of households get poorer under the GOP billAvg gets little – and are worse off if you include tariffsThis'd be the largest transfer of wealth from the poor to the rich in a single law in history

New JCT analysis of the House-passed budget reconciliation bill is out.Under the GOP plan, more tax cuts go to millionaires than the entire half of America combined. This graph shows just the tax side. Include the Medicaid & SNAP cuts (which we'll get from CBO soon), & it's a cut for the poorest.

Don’t compare Trump’s sending the National Guard to LA to actions by prior presidents

President Donald Trump’s deployment of the National Guard to Los Angeles to stop protests against his immigration crackdown isn’t the first time an elected U.S. official has sent troops to thwart unrest over civil rights. What to know about the history of deployments

The Associated Press (@apnews.com) 2025-06-09T23:42:03Z

This isn’t like any of the prior instances. This time, the protests are a direct response to Trump’s lies and possibly illegal actions.
