Pardoning Trump is a bad idea
Totally disagree. Do you think Republicans would ever pardon a Democratic president? They wanted to lock Hillary Clinton up, impeached Bill Clinton, and will inpeach Biden if they take the house. If Trump is guilty, he should pay the price.
— Harris Levy (@HarrisL585) August 22, 2022
Republicans don’t care about dividing the country – for example, how they handled the Garland SC nomination and the insurrection. Their Supreme Court majority didn’t care when they overturned Roe.

The Trump cult is immune to facts – the 1/6 hearings changed nothing
The majority of Republicans will never accept the fact that Biden won the 2020 election. They have not been moved by the great job the 1/6 committee has done.

Republicans don’t care about dividing the country so Democrats shouldn’t either
Prosecute Trump if he’s guilty (which I believe he is). It’s that simple.
Republicans never worry about dividing the country. Some examples:

*no hearing on Garland’s Supreme Court nomination #
*the Big Lie/the insurrection
* the Republican-dominated Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade

Bad tweets by the Washington Post
The Secret Service didn’t cause the controversy. Trump caused it by wanting to get rid of the magnetometers and wanting to go to the Capitol with his mob.
Your tweet is wrong. It should read “Donald Trump thrust Secret Service into controversy.” He did it to them with his disgraceful behavior.

How would a DOJ trial of Trump work?
Grand juries do not have to be unanimous. The regular jury would have to be unanimous. The difficulty of finding jurors who don’t know the case was discussed on MSNBC.
DOJ would assign a federal prosecutor to present the evidence before a grand jury. The grand jury would then decide to indict or not. It would then become a criminal trial with a standard jury that would require unanimity to convict.

1) the country is already polarized
2) did Republicans care about polarizing the country when they didn’t give Garland a hearing? Did the Supreme Court (R) care when they overturned Roe v. Wade?
