Abortion polls update 9/16/22
The extremist Supreme Court decision is unpopular.
Really striking findings in the new NYT poll:
— . (@GregTSargent) September 16, 2022
52% of voters *strongly* oppose the Dobbs ruling. Only 19% strongly support it
57% of women *strongly* oppose the ruling
This upends some very big assumptions about abortion politics and the midterms.https://t.co/L4XmVgg66X

this really should, but likely won't, induce a pretty broad reconsideration of whether it's smart to base your politics around chasing the median view as described in polling, rather than CHANGING the median view through strong messaging https://t.co/GjLovp6TX0

Lindsay Graham’s abortion bill.
He’s out of touch with what the public wants. Republicans claimed they wanted abortion laws to be made by the states. Now Graham does this. They just want to impose their extremist views.
I assume red states with stricter bans would keep them so it would only affect states with no bans or more lenient bans. This is just another case of the right wing trying to impose their unpopular views on everyone.
