I am a big admirer of Gram Parsons for his solo work and earlier work with the Byrds and Flying Burrito Brothers. There’s a Kickstarter campaign for a newly found live recording from a 1973 concert. I am really looking forward to it!
The clavinet is an electronic keyboard made by Hohner from 1964 to 1982. Stevie Wonder used it for “Superstition” and other records. The Band used it on “The Shape I’m In” and “Up on Cripple Creek”.

I am not a big fan of their long jams but there are a lot of excellent songs on this album which was a 3-record set. I love the version of “Comberland Blues”. I think this was their best period. I saw them in 1973 and the concert was not as good as this.
