Polls show support for Medicaid

The public does not want the cuts proposed by Republicans.

The fact that 3 out of 4 people (including a majority of Republicans) want to maintain or expand Medicaid as elected Republicans are passing extraordinary cuts to facilitate a regressive tax cut says much about whose interests they prioritize.

Americans across the political spectrum like Medicaid and think it should get more funding, not less, according to a new poll from health research organization KFF. https://n.pr/3Zyhvfu

KFF poll: 64% view the "One Big Beautiful Bill" unfavorably. Support is higher among MAGA Republicans, but drops significantly when potential impacts on uninsured rates & hospital funding are considered. Medicaid & ACA favorability at all-time highs. #HealthcareReform #News

A new poll from @KFF shows the favorability of the #ACA among Americans is at an all-time high of 66% with approval for #Medicaid at 83%. The bill currently in Senate committees would force millions off of #healthcare coverage, including up to 1/3 of @CoveredCA's 1.98M enrollees

Public lands – the Republican scam (described in Bluesky posts)

The total amount of public land that Trump wants to make available for sale is equivalent to more than TWICE the size of CALIFORNIA.All to pay for tax cuts to some of the richest people in world history.

Eric Holthaus (@ericholthaus.com) 2025-06-17T20:00:43.849Z

Public lands are just that: public, and owned by the taxpayer. Republicans want to auction them off to the highest bidder to pay for their billionaire tax cuts. Hell no.

🚨 There’s a lot of horrific news out of Washington right now—but you might have missed this: Senate Republicans just introduced a plan to sell off 120 million acres of our public lands.Let me break down what’s in the bill and why it’s a full-scale land grab. 🧵

oh – and this week the Senate confirmed David Fotouhi to be Deputy Administrator of EPA. More about him – and his effort to overturn the agency's ban on asbestos – here 👇www.propublica.org/article/davi…

This happened for decades with asbestos: industry lobbied to deem certain types safer than others, delaying a ban that would have saved countless lives

Trump lies about the “trade deal”

Holy crap. The US-UK trade deal is a blank sheet of paper and only Trump signed it. (Genuine screen grab).

I assume everything Trump says is a lie unless somebody credible confirms it is true.

Trump is targeting Democratic cities in blue states

How about big cities in red states? This is very partisan but Republicans won’t object.

🚨 Trump on Sunday directed federal immigration officials to prioritize mass deportations from Democratic-run cities.apnews.com/article/trum…

Christopher Webb (@cwebbonline.com) 2025-06-16T03:24:49.049Z

Two of the three states with the largest population of people in the U.S. illegally are the red states of Texas and Florida. Trump, notably, does not name their cities when calling on ICE to execute more aggressive immigration raids. He does, however, name LA, Chicago and New York.

Sahil Kapur (@sahilkapur.bsky.social) 2025-06-16T01:45:40.280Z

“Attacking cities is a useful, coded way for Republicans to demonize areas with significant minority communities. That way, they can pull attention away from how right-wing policies hurt red states and instead focus on made-up boogeymen.”
