“Love is Strange” was a big hit for Mickey & Sylvia in 1957. There are many covers including one by Wings. The original version was actually by Bo Diddley from 1956 but it wasn’t released until 2007.

Doctor Clayton’s 1941 record became Pat Hare’s “I’m Gonna Murder My Baby” in 1954. Hare’s chilling recording wasn’t released until 1990. The amazing thing is that Hare later did it – he killed his girlfriend in 1963!

1970 Orioles won the World Series on this date
The 1970 Baltimore Orioles (108-54) were the best team in Orioles history. They won the World Series on October 15, 1970 over the Reds in five games.
In 2010, the Orioles celebrated the 40th anniversary of the 1970 team. They brought players from the team back and introduced them before the game See the pictures of a signed picture I got at the game (only 70 made, $500) and the jersey Bobby Grich wore at the ceremony (which I bought on eBay). I also have a signed print of the World Series trophy.
They were not able to celebrate the 50th anniversary last year because of Covid-19.

A reporter did a public service by identifying a flaw in a state online site. The governor called him a hacker.

His birthday is today. He was a great hitter for the Pirates.

One Charles Center – Baltimore
One Charles Center is one of a few Baltimore buildings designed by Mies Van Der Rohe. Charles Center was an area that was built to revive the business district downtown. One Charles Center was constructed in 1962. It’s on the National Register of Historic Places.
It may be redeveloped into apartments. It was auctioned on April 18, 2024.
