Crucial new analysis from @budgetlab.bsky.social taking CBO’s distributional analysis and including the impact of tariffs. The combined effect of the “big beautiful bill” and Trump’s tariffs has the bottom 80% losing on average, the 9th decile flat, and only the top 10% better off.

NEW FROM CBO: brutal distributional analysis of House GOP "Big Beautiful Bill"On avg the bottom 30% of households get poorer under the GOP billAvg gets little – and are worse off if you include tariffsThis'd be the largest transfer of wealth from the poor to the rich in a single law in history

New JCT analysis of the House-passed budget reconciliation bill is out.Under the GOP plan, more tax cuts go to millionaires than the entire half of America combined. This graph shows just the tax side. Include the Medicaid & SNAP cuts (which we'll get from CBO soon), & it's a cut for the poorest.

As Trump pursues mass deportation, his businesses again seek foreign workers

Trump and his terrible policies are unpopular

Second: Trump has a very low approval rating on foreign policy. At -14 right now. Link to our recent Strength In Numbers/Verasight poll: http://www.gelliottmorris.com/p/polls-amer…

a new washington post / GMU poll finds trump 15 points net negative on immigration, soft disapproval of his handling of LA protests (with lots of don't knows). the narrative that these protests are good for trump is not supported by data at this point. see: http://www.gelliottmorris.com/p/why-the-la…

New Quinnipiac poll gauges national sentiment on the One Big Beautiful Bill Act: Two-thirds of registered voters have heard/read "a lot" or "some" about it. Support is 27%, opposition is 53%, and 20% had no opinion. Among independents it's 37 points under water.

Wow. New Quinnipiac poll finds Trump's approval at 38-54. And note this:Trump approval on immigration: 43-54Approval on his deportations: 40-56Can we say Trump isn't winning on this issue yet?

Slashing Medicaid is DEEPLY unpopular, but Republicans are willing to do it to give tax breaks to the richest of the rich.

My view on the Terry Moran story

The Times and Stelter posts don’t discuss how badly Trump treated Moran in his interview. My replies reminded them. As far as I know, ABC did nothing to defend Moran after Trump lied to him and insulted him. I guess they are all afraid of Trump. I don’t think Moran was right to make his post but he didn’t start this. The posts from the Times and Stelter only show one side of the story.

ABC News is cutting ties with the correspondent Terry Moran after he posted derisive comments online that referred to both President Trump and Stephen Miller, with the term “world-class hater.”

The New York Times (@nytimes.com) 2025-06-10T21:51:37.272533Z

My reply

BREAKING: Terry Moran is out at ABC News. "We are at the end of our agreement with Terry Moran and based on his recent post – which was a clear violation of ABC News policies – we have made the decision to not renew," an ABC spokesperson says.

Washington Post lets the Trump administration lie on energy

No push back. No investigation. The Post just lets them lie.

President Donald Trump has the authority to entirely abolish protected areas set aside as national monuments by past presidents, according to a legal opinion released by the Department of Justice.

The Washington Post (@washingtonpost.com) 2025-06-10T21:04:05.525Z

You report the Trump Administration claim that they “took American energy infrastructure that was on life support and brought it back to life.”This is nonsense. You need to investigate it. How about this?www.eia.gov/todayinenerg…

I have no sympathy for Trump voters who are unhappy with his immigration policy

They did this to all of us. F them.

A Trump voter who owns a small roofing company in Florida says ICE detained a third of his workers."You get to know these guys, you become their friends … It's quite a shock." @nbcmiami.com reports: nbcnews.to/3Tm60Eh

He voted for Trump. He did this to his employees.

Harris Levy (@harrislevy.bsky.social) 2025-06-12T21:44:23.827Z

All of these folks out here saying, “I voted for Trump, but I didn’t think it would be like this.”I’m not buying it. They knew exactly what they were voting for. He claimed immigrants were eating cats and dogs. FFS!
