The NRA acknowledges that it receives foreign funds but says they are not used for election work.
However, the NRA admits it moves funds between accounts so that may not actually be true. Sad!

If you’re not familiar with what Santorum said, read this.
Here’s more information. It’s terrible that people do this instead of having a real discussion on issues.
Update: Here’s an excellent article on the personal attacks the some people have made on the Parkland students.
Update: Conspiracy theorists falsely claim David Hogg was not at the school during the shooting.
Update: A Minnesota state representative compared the Stoneman Douglas protesters to Hitler Youth.
Update: Here’s a good column that makes the point that conservatives are mad because the students are sympathetic :
” …what conservatives are really mad about is that the tactic of demonizing those they disagree with — which is so common in contemporary political rhetoric (on both the right and left) — has, in this case, been taken away from them.”
Sad!
This story from the New York Times shows the issues candidates face in 2018 concerning gun control. Conservative Republicans in house elections could lose in the suburbs if they don’t support gun control. On the other hand, Democratic senators in conservative states could be in trouble if they support gun control.

A new Fox News poll shows that voters want gun control but don’t think Congress will act. Let’s see them call this fake news. Sad!
PolitiFact checked claims made by the speakers yesterday.
The march was important and hopefully will translate into votes this November for legislators who support gun control.
Look at the last claim where the NRA falsely stated that the march was organized by violent groups. How can we have a discussion on guns when they say nonsense like this? Sad!

This is an explanation of the march.
Organizations supporting gun control:
Here’s an excellent series of charts illustrating our gun problems. For example, the US has 4.4% of the world’s population but almost half of the civilian-owned guns. Sad!
Trump thinks teachers should be armed under certain conditions. Is the answer to mass shootings really more guns? Doesn’t this increase the risk of people getting hurt or killed?
If the police enter the school during a shooting and see someone with a gun, how do they know if it’s a teacher of the shooter? Don’t you think the shooter will tell the police he is a teacher instead of admitting he’s the bad guy?
On the other hand, if a teacher said to me that they don’t feel safe in school and want to carry a gun, I would have a hard time telling them not to after what has happened.
The whole thing is a diversion from the real issues. Sad!
Trump is showing no presidential leadership on this issue. His word is worthless because he changes his mind frequently.
I will give Trump credit for standing up to the NRA for one day. That’s one more day than Ryan and McConnell ever will. Sad!
