The Baltimore Orioles media guides from 1954-2023 are online here.
The Orioles, when they were at Memorial Stadium, used to have a sale of leftover giveaways every year for a week in December. They also sold media guides so I have about a dozen of them. Players would be there too, As I recall, Mike Flanagan filled my order in 1979.
One year (1978 or 1979), after the sale, a neighbor and I were waiting at a bus stop by the stadium to head back downtown. We weren’t trying to hitch. A guy stopped and gave us a ride. It was Don Hardeman of the Colts who was going to the airport. That was kind of him to give us a ride.
This painting of musician Junior Wells by Frederick Brown. It’s at the Smithsonian American Art Museum but is currently not on display. They own five of his works. I’ve seen Stagger Lee and it’s great.

The Junior Wells painting was used for an exhibit poster (see my copy below). That’s where I saw the painting.

It’s impossible to debate a non-stop liar. There are no good outcomes.
Sure, I’ll admit they tanked to get high draft picks. But that doesn’t mean you will hit with those picks. The Orioles have done an outstanding job of drafting. They were second-guessed on Holliday – most people (me included) would have taken Druw Jones who is in A ball now. Kjerstad and Cowser were not consensus picks either.

I was not a Star Trek fan back in the 1960s when it was on TV. I did watch the three movies that were made in the 2010s.
Then I bought the box set of the first 10 Star Trek films.
Since then I have watched discs of the recent Star Trek TV shows
From best to worst:
The first two seasons of Strange New Worlds – excellent
The first four seasons of Discovery – very good
The three seasons of Picard – ok
“Liar, Liar” is a great piece of garage rock from 1965.
“I Believe to My Soul” is a1959 Ray Charles song. I read that he did the backing vocals after he was dissatisfied with the Raelettes attempt. I know the Van Morrison 1974 cover version best.
