Someone at Pixar deleted all of Toy Story 2 and the backup hadn't worked for a month, and the only reason we saw that movie was b/c someone on maternity leave had a copy of it on her home computer.

Covers: Tears of Rage
Like “This Wheel’s On Fire”, “Tears of Rage” was first recorded as part of the Basement Tapes and first released on Music From Big Pink. It was co-written by Bob Dylan and Richard Manuel. I saw the Band four times and don’t recall them ever performing it. If they did, it would have been at the first show in 1970.
Covers: The Prisoner’s Song
“The Prisoner’s Song” was originally recorded in 1924 by Vernon Dalhart. One of his cousins may have heard it in prison. I just heard it for the first time in a cover by Fats Domino (1958).

American Songwriter published an article on how John Prine wrote “Please Don’t Bury Me” which is on his 1973 album Sweet Revenge. I saw him perform it at the Philadelphia Folk Festival before it was released.

I have never seen this view of it before. Go to YouTube for more views of the play.
Kurosawa’s High and Low
High and Low (1963) is my second favorite of the Kurosawa films I have seen (after Yojimbo). It’s a crime film about kidnapping. Kidnappers call an executive to extort a ransom because they have kidnapped his son. It turns out that they have erroneously kidnapped his chauffeur’s son. What does the executive do now?
