ESPN’s poor coverage of the Ravens Mike Green pick

ESPN gave very little TV time to the Green pick and rushed on to the next one.

Their website had this without noting why Green fell to 59: “There was less than a 1% chance that Green would be available at the No. 59 spot, according to ESPN’s Draft Day Predictor.”

NFL Network and ESPN had notably different approaches in talking about the off-field issues of Mike Green, who was selected No. 59 overall by the Baltimore Ravens. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport discussed Green's two sexual assault allegations.

ESPN, meanwhile, made no reference to Mike Green's allegations – or any off-field concerns.

Reducing services is not savings

DOGE's firings, and the ways they did it, will cost the federal government $135 billion this fiscal year, http://www.nytimes.com/2025/04/24/u…

Taniel (@taniel.bsky.social) 2025-04-25T03:55:37.580Z

What DOGE did is not savings, it’s a reduction in services. Savings would be if you figured out a way to do something in 30 minutes that used to take an hour.

another post and my reply

Elon backtracked on DOGE savings goals from $1 trillion to $150 billion. But watchdogs report only $12.6 billion in verifiable savings. That represents just 0.173% of the U.S. federal budget for 2025.We're losing vital government services for basically nothing in return.

Robert Reich (@rbreich.bsky.social) 2025-04-24T19:30:08.936700Z

Are any of those real savings or are they just reductions in services to people?

more “savings”
