Crab cake egg rolls have really taken off here in Baltimore. I like the ones from Papi Cuisine.

Covers: Just Out of Reach (Of My Two Open Arms)
The most popular version of “Just Out of Reach (Of My Two Open Arms)” was released by Solomon Burke in 1961. The original version was by the country group the Stewart Family in 1951. Percy Sledge also covered it. I have been concentrating on his records today.
Covers: True Love Travels on a Gravel Road
“True Love Travels on a Gravel Road” was originally recorded by Duane Dee in 1968. Covers by Elvis Presley and Percy Sledge are better known. Its’ one of the many songs recorded by both country and R&B artists.
Covers: Take Time to Know Her
Percy Sledge’s 1968 version of “Take Time to Know Her” was his second biggest US record. It was written by Stephen Davis who recorded it decades later. The versions are listed here.
Covers: Warm and Tender Love
“Warm and Tender Love” was Percy Sledge’s follow up to “When a Man Loves a Woman” in 1966. While not as popular, it’s another great record. The first version was by Joe Haywood in 1965. I like the Buckwheat Zydeco version from 1985. Check out the reggae version from Alton & the Groovers.
Covers: It Tears Me Up
“It Tears Me Up” was released by Percy Sledge in 1966. It was his third single (after “When a Man Loves a Woman” and “Warm and Tender Love”). It’s a great song and a great performance. Most people only remember Sledge for “When a Man Loves a Woman” but he made many fine records. The song was written by Dan Penn and Spooner Oldham. Penn released his own version in 1995.
Covers: Me and My Chauffeur Blues
“Me and My Chauffeur Blues” was recorded by Memphis Minnie in 1941. The Jefferson Airplane and Lucinda Williams have covered it.
CNN.com is doing a poor job of putting Biden stories on their iPhone version
They give very little attention to him compared to Trump. My tweets were based on looking at the iPhone version last night (5/10/21). This morning, the first headline that mentions Biden is 26th. This is after stories on Trump, Romney, and Cheney.
People who believe the Big Lie are not victims
Saying they have been victimized by Fox is nonsense. They weren’t strapped in a chair and forced to watch it. They could find out the truth if they wanted to.
My reaction to this from CNN’s Reliable Sources newsletter:
Donie writes: “I think some on the left might take comfort in watching an interview like that. Some might feel a sense of superiority. But I think our colleague Pamela Brown put it best this weekend when we rolled tape of that interview and she said that the Wards were ‘victims of misinformation.’ Yes, there are many biases and prejudices and all sorts of reasons that contribute to people wanting to believe the Big Lie. But the reality is a lot of people ARE victims, so to speak, of a poisoned info-universe.
Data from Catalist on the 2020 election
I am shocked that 15% of Trump voters were not white. He is such a bigot and has attacked minorities. Remember “shithole countries”?
