Tweet on Francois Truffaut

Truffaut’s “Jules and Jim” is one of the best films I know. I also admire “The 400 Blows”, “Shoot the Piano Player”, and “The Wild Child”. ”The Bride Wore Black” is very underrated. I am not a fan of “Mississippi Mermaid” and “Such a Gorgeous Kid Like Me” though maybe I would like them better than I did in the 1970s.

Great cartoon about Munch’s The Scream

I first encountered the art of Edvard Munch on covers of Penguin editions of plays by Henrik Ibsen. The Scream (1893) is his most famous work.

Low-tax states usually mean low taxes for the rich

Also keep in mind that low taxes mean less money for services that the rich usually don’t use such as public education.

More GOP hypocrisy on infrastructure

They didn’t vote for it but they want credit for it.

Covers by Bob Dylan

Bob Dylan is known best for his original songs but has recorded several albums of covers. He made two albums of blues covers in the early 1990s. Then there’s his Christmas album and three American songbook albums in this century. He has also recorded a few covers for tribute albums.
