The Washington Post squashed a cartoon showing billionaires sucking up to Trump

One of them was the Post’s owner Jeff Bezos. The cartoonist resigned. A Post editor claimed it was not censorship but about too much similar content. That’s bullshit. I am appalled by how mainstream media and billionaires have caved int o Trump.

Trump is guilty and should be punished in some way

The election doesn’t change that. I don’t think sending him to jail is plausible but he should be held accountable in some way.

Fines are worthless with Trump. They haven’t stopped his bad behavior before.

He should sentence Trump to public service like picking up trash or serving meals. Fines and monetary settlements have not improved Trump’s behavior. Trump may belong in jail but it’s not realistic to expect that.

25 years since Y2K

Y2K turned out to be nothing because of the hard work of many people. I worked at a government agency. Our agency spent years planning for it and everything went smoothly.

Sigh. It wasn’t a nonevent BUT we took it seriously. It was a nonevent BECAUSE we took it seriously. Same dangerous attitude I’ve seen about ozone layer deterioration: if a major campaign of concerted action averted the problem, it must have been a fake problem. Not the correct lesson to draw!
