Great job by 3-D Archive on Robot Monster

Robot Monster (1953) is a low-budget science fiction film that is probably best known for being used in Mystery Science Theater 3000. The 3-D Film Archive did a great job restoring it in 3-D through a Kickstarter project. It’s now on Blu-ray disc. It’s not great art but it’s fun to watch.

I call the Orioles’ Ryan McKenna 47.20

Here’s why (and thanks to my friend Bob who suggested I call him Mr. 47.20 and that it should be his uniform number).

It was the second game of the season.  The Orioles were playing in Boston and I bet $20 on FanDuel on the Orioles to win. I would make a $27.20 profit.  The Orioles had an 8-7 lead with 2 out in the bottom of the ninth.  I am already thinking about what delivery meal I will get with my winnings.  A Red Sox batter hits a fly ball to Ryan McKenna for what should be the last out.  He drops it and the next batter hits a home run.  The Red Sox win 9-8 and I don’t get my $47.20.

McKenna is primarily a defensive guy.  We have better players in the minors which is where he should be.
