Joe Walsh owns Klaus Voorman’s cover art for Revolver

Klaus Voorman, an old friend of the Beatles since their days in Hamburg, did the front cover art for Revolver, the Beatles album from 1966.

I didn’t know until yesterday that Joe Walsh owns it. The Rock and Roll Detective, the author of the article I linked to, tracked it down and even told Voorman where it was. It doesn’t say how Walsh acquired it.

Covers: Tomorrow Is a Long Time

“Tomorrow Is a Long Time” is a Bob Dylan song. He recorded a demo in 1962 (released in 2010) and a live version in 1963 (released in 1971). Among the covers are versions by Joan Baez, Elvis Presley and Odetta. The tweet below reminded me of it.

Two animated films from Eastern Europe

I recently watched Blu-rays discs of two animated films from Eastern Europe.

Delta Space Mission (1984) from Romania is a science fiction film. The plot and animation aren’t the best but the colors are wonderful. This would be great if you were on drugs. (The first movie I saw on acid was Fritz the Cat so I know what I’m talking about.)

The Old Man Movie (2019) from Estonia uses stop motion animation. It’s a very funny film about rescuing a cow before the udder explodes and causes a catastrophe.

Baseball in Pics on single-season shutout leaders since 1920

Nobody pitches shutouts often now since nobody pitches many complete games and more. Only one item on this list is later than 1978.

Bob Gibson’s 1968 season was amazing. I have posted on it elsewhere on the blog.

The Cardinals won 97 games, Gibson’s ERA was only 1.12 and he still only went 22-9. How did he lose any games with great performances on the NL championship team?
