“Daydream Believer” was written by John Stewart and originally recorded by the Monkees in 1967. Anne Murray’s version was popular in 1979. Stewart recorded it in 1971.

“One for My Baby (and One More for the Road)” was originally performed by Fred Astaire in the 1943 film The Sky’s the Limit. Frank Sinatra recorded it several times and it was in the films Road House (1948) and The Abominable Dr. Phibes. I know it best from the Etta James version.

“You Can’t Stop a Tattler” was written by Washington Phillips and released in 1929. Ry Cooder covered it in 1974.
Donald Trump and Fox News were the biggest spreaders of misinformation about mail-in voting
And Trump is the biggest spreader of misinformation about the coronavirus
‘A Battle for the Souls of Black Girls’
The 2016 Trump campaign tried to suppress black votes
I assume they’re doing it again.
Potential election-related violence and unrest
I think we’ll see a lot more of this as we get closer to the election. Neither side will accept a loss and Trump is telling his cult that it’s rigged if he loses. It appears that Biden will win the popular vote. I don’t think Trump is trying to anymore. However a second consecutive election with a different outcome in the popular vote and Electoral College could be very damaging to public faith in the elections.
Carl Hiaasen’s “Etiquette at a Crime Scene”
This is a great column from 1986 by Carl Hiaasen who started out writing for newspapers but has become an excellent novelist.
“Etiquette at a Crime Scene” is also in his collection Kick Ass.
An example from the column which is written as Q and A:
Q. What about souvenirs?
A. Usually it’s unwise to try to collect souvenirs from a crime scene. Bullet fragments, shell casings, hair samples, ski masks, money satchels, bloody clothing—sure, the stuff would look swell in the rec room next to your bowling trophies. But, please, the crime lab gets first dibs.
Republicans and others endorse Biden
I don’t think this matters. The Trump cult will say they are part of the deep state.
Covers: Someday Soon (Ian Tyson song)
“Someday Soon” covered by Judy Collins (from 1969) was popular when I was in high school. The original version is by Ian & Sylvia from 1964.
