Report from @lreiley that should shut down, "Oh, no, there is no systemic racism." From the new Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack: “We saw 99 percent of the money going to White farmers and 1 percent going to socially disadvantaged black farmers." https://t.co/Bv2ysMKYSb
The House is holding a hearing today to examine the state of Black farmers, with new Agriculture Sec. Tom Vilsack in the hot seat.

“This exemplifies Baltimore. People call us quirky and I see that as a compliment… And part of the reason is because we'll take opportunities for making art in unusual places. I think that's really a kind of community social activism.” — Joyce J. Scott https://t.co/OUQvvrlJn8
Remembering when Baltimore celebrated America’s bicentennial on July 4, 1976 by sending a 35-ton birthday cake into the Inner Harbor on a barge and what the thundershowers didn't wash away—the rats ate.
Let’s see: Many of them think the election was stolen, many won’t take the COVID-19 vaccine and now they won’t do anything to prevent mass shootings. It’s amazing that Republican support for gun safety laws has actually gone down even though there were two mass shootings within a week.
Republicans are a big threat to future of our country now. They are out of step with the majority of the country but their power in Congress and the states can hold the rest of us back. It won’t matter how many people support tougher laws. Republicans have gotten so much money from the NRA that they will never do anything to cross them. Remember when Trump talked about doing something about guns? He always backed down after talking with the NRA.
Most Americans back tougher gun laws, but support among Republicans plummets even after Atlanta, Boulder shootings, exclusive poll finds https://t.co/3xjWgDPosw
'Tina' offers marvelous performance footage, celebrity commentary, and rarely seen home movies. It also digs deep into Turner's struggles—and the documentary's directors spoke to V.F. about navigating that trauma with respect: https://t.co/mIFWYHiPXh
"have Biden administration policies caused a crisis at the southern border? Evidence suggests not…This year looks like the usual seasonal increase plus migrants who would have come last year, but could not." https://t.co/SA7quanG2X
Yes, it turns out that actually trying to solve hard problems is…hard! Any depiction of this that doesn't wrestle with whether Trump's policies were worse in humanitarian and rule-of-law terms is adopting the GOP frame that cruelty-as-deterrence is good: https://t.co/aWFoFmqWgfhttps://t.co/wpQOPuE0Hc
"As President Joe Biden tries to undo the damage that his predecessor did to America’s immigration system, three problems are getting in the way," @juliettekayyem wrote in February. https://t.co/hjgQXFQkeU

The surge at the border has been taking place for nine months. A 690% increase in unaccompanied minors in Trump’s last year. You can get the data straight from CBP’s website. pic.twitter.com/QODyBU8C2t
Steve McQueen would have been 91 today. The Drive-By Truckers saluted him with this 1998 song. I have also attached a video from a show I saw of theirs in 2009. This is far from their most mature work but it’s loud and fun.
“Bluebird” is a Buffalo Springfield song written and sung by Stephen Stills. It was a single in 1967. A much longer version was released years later. There was a blues-style version by Bonnie Raitt on her first album in 1971. She really made it sound like a different song.
