Covers: Subterranean Homesick Blues

“Subterranean Homesick Blues” (1965) is Bob Dylan’s first great electric song. I can;’t imagine why anyone would cover this unique recording and Nilsson’s version is wretched. I’,m posting this now because of the Instragam post showing the cards Dylan held up during the video for the song.

The song has many great lines but my favorite is “You don’t need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows” which inspired the name of the left-wing Weathermen.

Republican fake Electoral College certificates

They’ll stop at nothing. If the Republicans control Congress in 2024, they probably accept the fakes.

Republicans don’t want to participate in presidential debates

The media is addicted to Trump

This is the second poll I’ve seen showing the majority doesn’t want Trump to run yet the media keeps giving him lots of coverage. I have never seen coverage of a future presidential election begin this early.

Chris Bell’s “There Was a Light”

“There Was a Light” was written by Chris Bell. Demos were made when he was in Big Star and he recorded it solo after he left. I think that’s actually Alex Chilton on vocals on the demo and Big Star played the song live after Bell left. Bell’s birthday was yesterday. His solo work was released many years after his death on the excellent I Am the Cosmos. Here’s a Wikipedia article on it. I have the Rhino version.
