Thus tweet reminded me of the great New Yorker cartoon that can be accessed from the link below.
Month: June 2022
Covers: Soothe Me
“Soothe Me” was written and recorded by Sam Cooke and released in 1962. The first version was by the Simms Twins on Cooke’s record label, SAR. Sam and Dave did a great cover version in 1966. I heard the Jimmy Barnes and Sam Moore version today on Bruce Cunningham’s sports radio show in Baltimore. He does a great job of playing old music

Trump should be prosecuted if the facts warrant it
As said in the tweet, not prosecuting him would be worse. I’m not worried about dividing the country. It’s already divided. The Trump cult can’t get much worse.
Only 21% or Republicans think it’s very important to find out what happened on 1/6
I don’t know why 41.9% have a favorable view of Trump
Unreal after all of the terrible things he has done and said.
Munster, Go Home
Munster, Go Home (1966) is a minor film that will entertain people, like me, who grew up watching the TV show when it was new. The film, unlike the TV series, is in color. There is going to be a new Munsters movie this year.
Most of the TV cast is there with a supporting cast including Hermoine Gingold, John Carradine and Terry-Thomas.
I always wondered about this
How did our ancestors know which plants were poisonous? Before science, the only way to determine this was to eat the plant. How did they pick the unlucky person who had to try a plant nobody had seen before?
Covid death statistics
from the article linked to above:
Only about 60 percent of Republican adults are vaccinated, compared with about 75 percent of independents and more than 90 percent of Democrats, according to Kaiser. And Republicans are both disproportionately white and older. Together, these facts help explain why the white death rate has recently been higher than the Asian, Black or Latino rate.
Covers: The 59th Street Bridge Song (Feelin’ Groovy)
“The 59th Street Bridge Song” (1966) by Simon and Garfunkel is better known as “Feelin’ Groovy”. Harpers Bizarre had a hit with it in 1967. The Liberace cover is incredibly terrible.
