Looks like a bribe to me

Wisconsin Governor Walker is giving parents a $100 check if they answer a few questions. There is no reason for this.  From the article

“To his critics, who note that Walker is a few months away from a tough reelection bid, it looks like campaign-year bribery of the up to 671,000 families who could receive checks.
And to independent economists, it’s a mystifying piece of tax policy that has no clear long-term economic purpose and few, if any, recent comparable examples, given that tax breaks are traditionally incorporated for tax filing season — not in the months before an election.”

Pence approves of Arpaio

The man was convicted!  How can Pence call him a champion of the rule of law.

Criminal convictions are not disqualifying for Republicans

Republicans don’t seem to object to having candidates that committed crimes.  Maybe that will help Trump get re-elected if he is charged with anything from the Mueller investigation.

And there’s this:

The Trump administration stresses abstinence as birth control

From this article: “The Trump administration has published its new plan for fighting teen pregnancy and its message to teens is clear: don’t have sex.

Anyone who wants federal government money to fight teen pregnancy must choose from two approaches that includes preventing teens from having sex, or persuading them to stop.”

There is no evidence this approach works.

Sad!

Republicans will keep the Arizona House seat but with a much smaller margin than Trump got

The Republicans will hold onto Arizona Congressional District 8.  The current margin is 52.7% to 46.9%.  Trump won this district by 21%.

This graph shows that many areas went more Democratic while none went more Republican:
