With Kavanaugh on the court, Republicans are about to accelerate their war on voting rights: https://t.co/vFqRdCW9Ox

Trump continues to politicize the Supreme Court. The TV event last night was totally inappropriate and unfair to the other justices who attended it.
Kavanaugh tried to say healing things and move on but Trump will continue to try to divide the country because he thinks it fires up his base. Trump has no interest in being president of the whole country – he only cares abut his cult. This is just like the 2016 election. Trump won but continues to whine and complain like a loser. He tried to make it seem that Kavanaugh, not Ford, was the victim.
He lied when he said Kavanaugh was proven innocent. That’s not true. The investigation was a sham. I hope Democrats dig further if they win the House and conduct the thorough investigation that should have been done before confirmation.
A majority of the public was opposed to Kavanaugh. The Republicans put him on the Supreme Court anyway.
A majority of the public believed the accusers over Kavanaugh. Trump says the accusations are a hoax.
This is a bad moment even by Trump standards.
Voters More Likely to Back Senate Candidate Who Opposes Kavanaugh Confirmation
Trump said they included “very fine people”.
I believed his rant at the hearings.
I believe this tweet.
He should recuse himself from any case where a liberal sues a conservative. He’s not objective.
Republicans don’t seem to like any kind of science
McConnell makes it clear that if there is another Supreme Court vacancy in Trump’s last hear, he will try to get the nominee confirmed. Now his standard is that it’s ok as long as the President and Senate are from the same party. Watch the video clip
from the CNN story linked to below:
“Speaking to both Fox News and CBS News on Sunday, McConnell would not rule out seeking to confirm a nominee if there is a Supreme Court vacancy in the final year of President Donald Trump’s first term in 2020, assuming the GOP holds onto the Senate in this November’s midterms. McConnell instead seemed to suggest that presidents don’t get Supreme Court nominees confirmed in a presidential election year — if the Senate is controlled by the opposite political party.”
While some Republicans refer to Kavanaugh opponents as a mob, they need to look at how some of their own people are reacting. I am going to link to a thread – look at the horrible tweets that have been made into screen prints. I don’t know how this country will ever be unified again after this. These people obviously have no interest. They’re going with Trump’s zero-sum philosophy: Everyone’s a winner or a loser. No cooperation.
There’s some white nationalism stuff in there too. Bigots. Sad!
This is the opposite of what the extreme conservative judges want to do:
The Senate has had 100 members since 1959.
