No moral leadership

Trump failed to provide moral leadership for the country again during the Rob Porter news.

He finally said something about domestic violence today but initially all he could do was praise Porter and not mention Porter’s ex-wives at all.  That showed his real thoughts.  Of course, Trump has been accused of similar actions by over a dozen women.  I believe them women.  Trump lies all the time.

Porter said he’s innocent.

Roy Moore says he’s innocent.

Putin says he’s innocent.

Trump says he’s innocent.

Notice a pattern?  To me, Trump’s worst moment was when he said the white supremacists in Charlottesville included “very fine people”.  His comments about “shithole countries” are right behind it.

The president should be a role model.  This one is a despicable human being.  Sad!

Let’s not forget Trump’s accusers

It’s obvious that Trump doesn’t care what happens to women; he will always defend a man accused of sexual misconduct (unless they’re a Democrat).  Let’s not forget Trump’s accusers.  There are many of them, you will find a different count in different articles.  I linked to three of them below.  It’s over 10 and under 20…I guess.

Trump says they’re all lying but I believe the women.  Do you think 10 or 15 women would have made this up?  I am sure it is painful for them to tell their stories and recall Trump’s disgusting behavior.  They are not getting money.  We have the Access Hollywood tape where Trump admits he grabbed women.   Sad!

The Atlantic

The Daily Beast

Another Trump lie

Trump used an accident in which a Border Patrol agent was killed to inflame anti-immigrant sentiment.  Trump and other Republicans treated this as an attack on the agent but there has been no proof of that. The FBI conducted over 650 interviews.

Now that we know that Trump’s story is not true, will he retract it?  Of course not.  He never acknowledges that he ever lies.  The original unsupported story got much more publicity than the results of the investigation.  Sad!

Chronology of the “shithole” comments

Here’s the chronology of the Trump “shithole”  comments.

Thursday: Trump makes his “shithole” comment in a meeting

FridayThe Washington Post reports the “shithole” comment and states that “White House officials did not dispute the account.”  Democratic Senator Durbin, who was in the meeting,  says that Trump said “shithole”.   Republican Senator Scott says that Republican Senator Graham, who was in the meeting, confirmed the Washington Post account.

Trump tweets that the Democrats made it up.  However, he allegedly takes a “victory lap” by phoning people to see how it played out in the press.

Republican Senators Perdue and Cotton, meeting participants, said they did not recall Trump saying these comments specifically.

Republican Senator Flake, who was not in the meeting, tweets that Trump’s comments “were not “tough,” they were abhorrent and repulsive”

Sunday: Now, Senator Cotton says that Trump did not say “shithole countries”.   Why didn’t he remember this on Friday?

Trump said “shithole”, lied about it and is being helped by other Republicans to make it seem like it didn’t happen.  Sad!

Is the Wall Street Journal fake news?

Trump now claims he was deliberately misquoted by the Wall Street Journal in a taped interview.  He blasted it as “FAKE NEWS!” but the Journal has stuck by their article.  In the past, the conservative Journal has been supportive of Trump.  However, they recently ran a story about a payoff made to a porn star so she wouldn’t talk about her relationship with Trump.  I assume Trump’s blast is just retaliation for that.  He expects the media to only say good things – everything else is fake.  Sad!
