Covers: I Pity the Fool

“I Pity the Fool” was originally recorded by Bobby Bland in 1961. There’s a terrific cover by the great Ann Peebles from 1971. If you are not familiar with her recordings, I can’t recommend them highly enough.

It’s introduced as an Ann Peebles number and is much closer to her version than it is to Bland’s.
