Old neon in Las Vegas
I haven’t been to the Neon Museum in Las Vegas but I have seen the old signs they have displayed throughout the old part of town. This is a link to a map of the restored neon signs. My pictures from 2009 are below it. I have five neon signs in my house. I think neon is great.

We need a snow equivalent to the wind chill
There should be a snow equivalent to the wind chill factor. Obviously, five inches of snow is much worse in Dallas than Minneaopolis. People up north have much more experience and equipment and handle snow much better. I spent my first 10 years in Manhattan and we always went to school in the snow. I have lived in Baltimore since 1976 and I will never get used to how badly they deal with snow here. They would close schools on a rumor of snow.
Covers: Without You
“Without You” is a Badfinger song from 1970 best known from the 1971 cover by Nilsson. It’s ironic that Nilsson was a fine songrwriter but two of his biggest hits were covers – this and “Everybody’s Talking”.
Covers: Stranger in the House
“Stranger in the House” is an Elvis Costello song that he recorded with George Jones in 1978. He also released an earlier solo version. Costello has such a great understanding of many types of music so it’s no surprise he could write a fine country song.

Republicans ramp up voter suppression
Republicans are using Trump’s big lie about voter fraud to try to pass bills that would increase voter suppression. They want to make it harder to vote because they know, and some have even said it out loud, that they lose if everyone votes. Democrats in Congress need to get rid of the Senate filibuster and pass the voter rights bill.
