Republicans keep saying Russian meddling did not have an effect on the election. It doesn’t appear to have affected actual voting but certainly changed people’s minds. The Russians obviously think it worked – why would they keep doing it if it didn’t?
The truth is we will never know how much of an impact Russian interference had. Trump certainly could have won without Russia but we’ll never know if that’s true or false.
We’ll see if today changes anything. I doubt it. Trump supporters will follow his lead.

Trump should not be sucking up to Russia.
Russia’s GDP is smaller than Italy’s or Canada’s.
He won’t stick to the real issues so he doesn’t offend his friend Putin. Here’s more on the server issue.
It seems more and more likely that Putin has something on Trump. I can’t explain Trump’s anti-American, pro-Russian behavior otherwise.
It’s also clear Republicans won’t hold him accountable. Sure, a few will issue statements but not will pass bills to keep him in check. Some of the statements don’t even mention Trump by name because the authors are cowards. Trump won’t listen to his own staff or Congress. He’ll listen to Putin.
