Trump has said, with no basis, that his campaign was spied on. Now, Barr backs him up. This undermines law enforcement. I have no trust in Barr now. He’s just another Republican liar sucking up to Trump.
As Philip Bump notes, Trump wins by making an “informant”(routine for law enforcement) into a more sinister sounding “spy”.
He’s gone completely into conspiracy theory territory. This undermines our country and sabotages law enforcement. It’s an attempt to obscure all the bad things Trump and his team did. My idea of treason: Trump, Jr./Manafort/Kushner meeting with Russians. They should have reported the contact to the FBI instead.
According to Trump, winning the election means the public absolved him of everything. That’s not true. Even if you agree with his “logic”, how could voters absolve him of stuff we didn’t know about at the time of the election (because Trump lied about Russian contacts)?
Overall, the public is not convinced Trump and his team are innocent. It has not improved his ratings.
The Washington Post and New York Times told the truth. Just because Mueller didn’t charge Trump with criminal activity doesn’t mean the articles were wrong. Trump should not attack them. He says ‘no collusion”. I say “no retractions”.
Trump. Jr. doesn’t know much about Pulitzer prizes so he should keep his mouth shut. Sad!
I find it hard to believe that Mueller would say that the Trump Tower meeting, the lies, Manafort giving polling data to a Russian, etc. are alright. This could be like the Clinton emails – he did something wrong but it wasn’t criminal.
Look at the history here.
The statement dictated by Trump was a lie. What was Hope Hicks’s role? I don’t understand why there were so many lies if the Trump campaign didn’t do anything wrong.
The majority does not think he has been exonerated. The more the administration does to hide the facts, the more people will be suspicious. Let’s see the report.
