Roberto Clemente

Clemente got hits in all 14 World Series games he played in. I saw him play in the final game of the 1971 NLCS.

On this day in 1934, Roberto Clemente was born.

Jimmy Carter’s modest life since he was president

Jimmy Carter is the only president in the modern era to return full-time to the house he lived in before he entered politics — a two-bedroom rancher assessed at $167,000, less than the value of the armored Secret Service vehicles parked outside. https://t.co/LKMAElI6hB

More security-clearance cancellations have been drafted

Trump doesn’t care about free speech, just about punishing people who don’t agree. The Republican party lack of push back is pathetic. Most of them now support his dictator-like moves.

2018 midterm elections update

Fact: if every state/district's result in November were an 8% uniform swing in Dems' favor from the '16 prez result, Dems would simultaneously gain 44 House seats (almost twice the +23 they need), but *lose* 4 Senate seats. https://t.co/qmCDpXyJmY pic.twitter.com/d00c4PyRkd

House seats most likely to flip

New CBS/YouGov House model has a Democratic lead of 6.8 points in the national popular vote translating to a majority of 9 seats. This degree of malapportionment is an affront to democracy. https://t.co/1s606yht4s

I think the tweet below makes sense. In the 2016 presidential election, Trump won most of the close swing states which led to his victory.

Ultimately, I think Ds either fall a few seats short of House majority or win 35+ seats. Tons of single digit races that will break overwhelmingly to D or R on Election Day – won’t break 50-50.

Trump lie about Bruce Ohr

Trump making it pretty clear DOJ official Bruce Ohr's clearance will be stripped soon: "Bruce Ohr is a disgrace. I suspect I'll be taking it away very quickly."

— Eli Stokols (@EliStokols) August 17, 2018

This is false. The alleged message said, “afraid they will be exposed.” Says nothing about an “anti trump Russia probe.” And “they” in this context meant the sensitive dossier sources. https://t.co/QF5ZH8fBFC
