Trump congratulated Putin on winning reelection. Now, there’s a rigged election! Trump apparently didn’t discuss Putin’s meddling in the election or power grid. I really think Russia has something on him since he is unwilling to criticize Putin.

Dowd is considering quitting because he can’t control Trump’s behavior. Trump has talked about firing Cobb. Trump added diGenova, a conspiracy theorist (like Trump).

This is a good column on why the Congressional Republicans won’t restrain Trump. I still think there’s a good chance Trump will fire Mueller. Congress could prevent it by passing a law….but they won’t.
Trump has added Joseph D. diGenova to his legal team. He has said, according to the article “Make no mistake about it: A group of FBI and DOJ people were trying to frame Donald Trump of a falsely created crime.”
That’s not true but it sounds like Trump’s thinking. It increases the likelihood that Trump will fire Mueller. Sad!
It appears that there was a valid non-political reason for the firing of Andrew McCabe. I think Trump would have been better off just to let that part of it play out and be the story. This article reviews what McCabe and Trump have said.
However, Trump is gloating about the firing and making it political as part of his efforts to undermine the Russia investigation. Sad!
The New York Times published a very thorough examination of how Cambridge Analytica, which was used by the Trump campaign, misused data from 50 million Facebook users.
I’m convinced that Trump’s rants are a trial balloon to see if Republicans will let Trump fire Mueller.
So far, few Republicans in Congress have reacted.
Congressional efforts to protect the special counsel are not going forward now.
If Trump is innocent, it would be in his interest to let the Mueller investigation proceed and clear him. I don’t believe it when Trump says there was no collusion but I’ll believe it if Mueller says it.
I think Trump will get the Justice Department to fire Mueller because it appears Republicans in Congress won’t do anything if he does. Sad!

So, Trump can fire Mueller and there will be no immediate consequences. At some point, through some investigation, we will get to the bottom of this. Trump can’t hide the truth forever. It must be bad if firing Mueller is a better option for him then letting Mueller find out the truth. Sad!
