This article states that Trump voters remain loyal because they feel disrespected.

A majority of Republicans think the FBI and DOJ are framing Trump
According to this poll, 61% of Republicans think the FBI and Department of Justice are framing Trump. Only 7% of Democrats think that.
Here’s another poll on a similar question
A great column on our addiction to Trump
This is one of the best columns I have read this year. It points out the media obsession with Trump. It states:
“Yet I worry that our national nonstop focus on Trump is helping to usher America into a hole: a Trump obsession. The danger is that Trump sucks up all the oxygen, so that other issues don’t get adequate attention.”
Kristof is 100% right. The media does not focus enough on other issues. The panel discussions are all in Washington and New York and don’t discuss the rest of the country enough.
Trump exploited the release of the prisoners
It’s great that the three prisoners were released and I’ll give Trump some credit for it but as usual Trump used it to boost himself.
Sad!
Trump administration language
The Trump administration has edited mission statements and other documents to remove references to climate change, discrimination, etc
Overview of changes to mission statements
“Trump is editing democracy out”
A draft Pentagon report had 23 references to climate change. The final version had one.
Trump is campaigning using tax dollars
Trump turns almost every speech into a campaign rally. He did it again in Cleveland yesterday.
From this article: “Though billed as an official White House event, and therefore funded with taxpayer money, Trump was overtly political in his remarks ahead of Tuesday’s primary election. He celebrated his own poll numbers, repeatedly attacked Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio) and urged Ohioans to elect Rep. James B. Renacci (R-Ohio), who is running against Brown.”
This is obviously wrong. Trump needs to separate campaign events from presidential ones. Taxpayers should not be paying for his campaign.
Any network that covered the campaign part of his speech should give equal time to the Democrats.
Who’s spending money at Trump’s Washington Hotel
The Washington Post has tracked which foreign countries, religious groups, business groups, and political groups have held events at Trump’s hotel.
Trump Place condo owners can remove his name from the building
Update 10/18/18
A judge ruled that condominium owners in Trump Place can vote to remove his name from the building.
From the article:
“The once ubiquitous Trump brand has become divisive since Mr. Trump entered the presidential campaign. At the same time, Trump branded buildings in New York have lagged behind the luxury market, selling for about 6.6 percent less than the average Manhattan condominium in 2017.
Condo owners at the Trump Parc in Stamford, Conn., are debating a similar move as the owners of 200 Riverside Boulevard. The silver T-R-U-M-P letters were pried off a troubled hotel and residential condominium in Panama City earlier this year. The Trump International Hotel and Tower in Toronto was renamed the Adelaide.
The Trump name was clipped off the Trump Soho, a condominium hotel in Manhattan. And three rental apartment buildings just south of 200 Riverside excised the Trump name from the building and the staff’s uniforms without any repercussions after Mr. Trump was elected president.”
Sad!

Trump’s online store only charges sales tax in three states
“Amazon has in recent years begun collecting sales tax in all 45 states that require it, as well as the District…”
Trump is such a hypocrite!
Sad!
update:
Trump and his old doctor
So Trump’s flunkies raided his old doctor’s office. The doctor later said that Trump basically wrote the medical letter Trump used in the election.
Do you think Trump wrote his own excuse notes when he went to school? I think one would go like this:
“Please excuse Donald for his absence yesterday. He had the highest fever ever recorded. Since Donald is the healthiest child ever, he was better by today.”
To be more serious:
- There should be requirements about what medical information should be disclosed by presidential candidates. I assume Congress could put them in a law.
- I wonder what Trump is hiding. My guess is that he is taking Viagra or Cialis. I wouldn’t be surprised if he is taking something for a sexually transmitted disease too.
