Trump thinks climate change is a Chinese hoax. This article points out that 150 million lives could be saved by reducing carbon emissions. Don’t expect Trump to do anything. Sad!

Let’s not make a deal
Will foreign countries make deals and treaties with the US after Trump? He has pulled the US out of the Paris Climate accord and the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP). He wants to invalidate the Iranian nuclear agreement and redo Nafta.
Why would anyone make a deal with the US now when the next president can just abandon it? Trump’s behavior will have bad repercussions for all future presidents. Sad!
Conspiracy theorists think there was fraud in the PA election
The recent congressional election for PA district 18 is a preview of the November congressional elections.
Since it appears that Conor Lamb won, the conspiracy theorists have to find fake reasons that didn’t happen.
Here’s an overview on a fact check concerning a story that the election was invalidated and links to some of the stories mentioned in it.
The usual fake Republican voter fraud allegations
Allegations that trucks of illegals cast votes
Allegations that voting machines changed votes to Lamb
Trump has convinced his followers that the system is rigged. I think they will not accept the results in November if the Democrats win the House and will fight back with nonsense like these allegations. Sad!
I couldn’t say it better
Former CIA Director John Brennan:
Congressional cowardice
This is a good column on why the Congressional Republicans won’t restrain Trump. I still think there’s a good chance Trump will fire Mueller. Congress could prevent it by passing a law….but they won’t.
More on Cambridge Analytica
Cambridge Analytica, under fire for misusing Facebook data, worked on the Trump campaign. This is an overview of the situation from the Washington Post.
Is it relevant that Stormy Daniels is a porn star?
I don’t think it matters that Stormy Daniels is a porn star. Her occupation does not factor into the activities covered by the suit. She met Trump in a hotel, not on a porn movie set. If, for example, Daniels was a teacher, would the media keep mentioning that? I doubt it. I don’t think it’s fair to Trump either for the same reasons. The alleged payoff had nothing to do with her profession. I wish the media would use her real name (Stephanie Clifford) and leave her occupation out of it when discussing the lawsuits.
However, it is relevant when discussing how she is profiting from the publicity by having a tour.
Belated happy birthday to her – she turned 39 on March 17th.
Trump’s newest lawyer supports conspiracy theories (just like Trump)
Trump has added Joseph D. diGenova to his legal team. He has said, according to the article “Make no mistake about it: A group of FBI and DOJ people were trying to frame Donald Trump of a falsely created crime.”
That’s not true but it sounds like Trump’s thinking. It increases the likelihood that Trump will fire Mueller. Sad!
Gerrymandering status overview
This article provides an overview of the status of redistricting fights in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Texas, North Carolina, Virginia and Michigan. Maryland is the only state in that group that had a map that was gerrymandered to help Democrats. Sad!
PA redistricting
The US Supreme Court did not approve a Republican request to put a stay on the new congressional map. Columns like this are spinning it as a win for Democrats but it’s really a win for fairness. On a practical basis, it does help Democrats but that was not the purpose of the map. The intent of the map was to draw representative congressional districts.
The Republicans were unwilling to produce a map that was fair to both parties so the State Supreme Court stepped in. The new map is more favorable for Democrats than the old one but that’s because the old one was so pro-Republican.
I am sure Republicans will continue to protest, with Trump’s approval. If the elections are held under the new map and it helps Democrats take the House, I expect Republicans to challenge the results. Sad!
