Teacher walkouts have spread to Colorado and Arizona

from this article:

“When adjusted for inflation, Arizona cut total state per-pupil funding by 37 percent between 2008 and 2015, more than any other state.”

and

“The Colorado Education Association, a major union, said teacher salaries in that state have fallen when adjusted for inflation. Teachers made an average of $46,155 in 2016, according to the National Education Association, putting them at 47th in the nation. The Colorado Education Association, a major union, said teacher salaries in that state have fallen when adjusted for inflation. The “best people”?

Working for Trump has ruined careers and reputations.  Trump appointees are not always “the best people” to begin with. Trump expects loyalty but doesn’t always show it.  It will get harder and harder for him to get competent people to work for him.  What will his appointees be like in the third and fourth year of his term?

Here are two articles on the what happened to some Trump appointees.  Sad!

New York Times

An excellent tweet:

and this response:

The Trump administration stresses abstinence as birth control

From this article: “The Trump administration has published its new plan for fighting teen pregnancy and its message to teens is clear: don’t have sex.

Anyone who wants federal government money to fight teen pregnancy must choose from two approaches that includes preventing teens from having sex, or persuading them to stop.”

There is no evidence this approach works.

Sad!
