This article states: “Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen said Tuesday that she was unaware of intelligence assessments concluding that Russia favored President Donald Trump over Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election.”
I find that hard to believe. She doesn’t know what the intelligence agencies think about the most important security issue of recent years? Either she’s lying (my opinion) or incredibly uninformed. She’s just going along with Trump’s view. We are never going to have secure elections with these people in charge.

Elliott Broidy
Broidy is the guy who used Michael Cohen to pay off a Playboy model who got pregnant. Now we are finding out more about him. This column is a good overview.
Broidy lobbied the Trump administration to help Saudi Arabia and hurt Qatar.
Broidy’s company has obtained $800 million in contracts during the Trump administration.
There’s even a plausible theory that Trump got the model pregnant and used Broidy as a front.
Trump’s outrageous claim about the FBI
Remember when Trump said that Obama wiretapped him? This was a lie with no supporting evidence. Trump has done it again with his claim that the FBI embedded someone in his campaign. This is another baseless claim designed to take attention away from the actual activities of the Trump campaign.
Think about it:
- The FBI was investigating Clinton’s emails during the campaign. Comey made two public statement which contributed to Clinton’s loss in the election.
- The FBI was investigating the Trump’s campaign’s contacts with Russia (an enemy of the US) during the campaign. The FBI said nothing about this during the campaign. Neither did President Obama.
If the FBI and Obama wanted to hurt Trump and help Clinton, they would have said something before the election about the connections between Russia and the Trump campaign. They didn’t. The facts are the opposite of Trump’s outrageous claim since their inaction helped Trump.

Where House members stand on gun safety proposals
The five items are (summarized by the Post):
“1. Dedicated funding for the CDC to research gun violence
2. Strengthening the ATF’s ability to track and record gun sales
3. Universal background checks for gun purchases
4. A ban on magazines capable of holding more than 10 rounds of ammunition
5. A ban on assault weapons, including a registration or buyback program for these weapons already in circulation”
Most Republicans didn’t even answer. There were 156 Democrats and two Republicans. who completely supported the agenda.
Democrats have not been perfect on gun safety but it’s clear nothing will get done with the Republicans, who are beholden to the NRA, in charge.
