Republican voters think the blue wave is “fake news”

Trump told them a red wave was coming.

Republicans can’t win on the issues – Trump’s terrible behavior, the tax cut that primarily helped rich people, and immigration policies that separated children from parents.

Instead (like Trump), they are making personal attacks on Democratic candidates.

From the article: “Republican electioneering groups, including the Congressional Leadership Fund “super PAC” and the National Republican Congressional Committee, have spent millions in recent weeks attacking Democratic candidates in intensely personal terms. The committees, along with some Republican candidates, have blasted one Democratic hopeful in New York for rap lyrics he once wrote; branded another, in Pennsylvania, as a “trust fund baby” and “tax dodger”; and aired commercials featuring veterans in wheelchairs to sow doubts about the patriotism of some Democratic nominees.”

There is no low Republicans won’t stoop to.

Then there’s this:

What if Kavanaugh isn’t confirmed?

I think Kavanaugh will be confirmed as the next Supreme Court justice.

What happens if he isn’t?  I don’t think it matters much.  Trump doesn’t compromise  – it’s not like he would pick a moderate instead.  He’ll pick somebody else off the list of extreme conservatives that was prepared for him by the Federalist Society.

The Supreme Court was a major reason people voted for Trump.  He won’t let them down since he has very little in his favor right now.

Trump would probably pick someone with an easier path to confirmation.  McConnell suggested other choices than Kavanaugh.

From the 7/8/18 article: “Senator Mitch McConnell, the Republican leader, told President Trump this past week that Judges Raymond M. Kethledge and Thomas M. Hardiman presented the fewest obvious obstacles to being confirmed to replace Justice Anthony M. Kennedy on the Supreme Court, according to Republican officials briefed on the conversation.
While careful not to directly make the case for any would-be justice, Mr. McConnell made clear in multiple phone calls with Mr. Trump and the White House counsel, Donald F. McGahn II, that the lengthy paper trail of another top contender, Judge Brett M. Kavanaugh, would pose difficulties for his confirmation.”

I don’t think CNN and MSNBC would do something like this

How racist can they get?

Who cares if he had marijuana?  He was murdered by a cop, who had no business being there, in his apartment!

Of course, no words of sympathy for the victim have been tweeted by our racist president.

The New York Times was wrong on Nikki Haley – they corrected it

What does Manafort know?

I am most interested in the Trump Tower meeting with the Russians.  He was there.  I don’t believe Trump when he said he didn’t know about it at the time.
