DACA: Is Trump lying or ignorant?

Trump claims that people are sneaking into America because of DACA but you had to be here by 2007 to qualify for DACA.  He blames Democrats but he’s the one that terminated DACA and turned down reasonable deals that would not have been acceptable to the bigots that are a large part of his base.  He could have a DACA deal if he wanted one.

Is he lying or is he that ignorant on the facts?  I think he’s lying to get his base worked up his most reliable issue – immigration.  He says nonsense like “Our country is being stolen.”

He says the Democrats want no borders – that’s just an outrageous lie with no basis in fact.

As this column states about Trump’s underlying message: “The just-below-the-surface message is this: White people made this country great. Brown people are flooding in. They pose an existential threat to your daily life and what the future holds for your children.”

I reject the lies and bigotry!  Sad!

77% believe that media outlets report “fake news”

Trump is winning on this one.  A recent poll shows that 77% believe that the media reports “fake news”.  I don’t think so.   I think the media makes rare mistakes and acknowledges them.  (However, Fox has not held anyone accountable for their fake Seth Rich murder story.)

Trump has put the media in a bad position.  He lies multiple times every day.  If the media points out that what he says isn’t true, then it looks like they’re anti-Trump, especially since they have to do it so often.

If they don’t point it out, then they are just passing along lies.  There was a Washington Post article last year that compared it to basketball fouls but I have thought it’s like football.  Referees could call pass interference on virtually every pass play but then it would look like they are biased.

What would make Trump stop lying?  I thought of something but the media would never do it.   They could carry Trump’s rants (aka speeches) on tape delay and not broadcast the lies.  Of course, that would make for very short broadcasts.  Trump has to be held accountable for his lies and it hasn’t been done.  Instead, he has made it seem like the media outlets are lying.  Sad!

Is Trump a good role model for children?

61% of Republicans think Trump is a good role model for children.

2% of Democrats think Trump is a good role model for children.

This article includes interviews with conservatives.

I can understand how people voted for Trump if, for example, they are opposed to abortion.  I can’t understand how anyone could consider a vindictive, lying, philandering, incompetent bigot to be a role model.  Sad!
